Trip Overview of Everest Base Camp Treks

The Everest Base Camp Treks starts from Kathmandu. This Trek has been rated as one of the best adventures in the world by trekkers and adventurers. Mount Everest Base Camp was first recognized as the world’s tallest, the stunning scenery in the Everest region has been acclaimed.

Our trek to the base of the highest mountain in the world allows you to enjoy the incredible beauty of the Tibetan Plateau, and walk to a very high altitude on good snow-free trails providing the best views of Everest from either the Tibet or Nepal side. This trek brings you through the basecamp of Everest and allows you a rare opportunity to walk the “Golden Highway” to advanced basecamp (ABC), which at 6400 metres/21,000 feet might be the highest “walkable” point in the world you can reach with only your trekking boots, hiking on good paths. These treks are in the spring, the main climbing season for Everest. You will have a chance to sample expedition life and check out the basecamps of teams from around the world.

The trip starts with a drive from Kathmandu through the friendship bridge. After completion of the immigration formalities at Zhangmu, we drive to Nyalam, the first night. Next day we continue to drive to Old Tingri and start trekking to North Everest Base Camp. The trek will follow the historic expedition route from Old Tingri to Rongbuk crossing over the Langma La pass-16,900 feet. Following the route to North Everest Base Camp, you will have enough time to explore the Rongbuk glacier below the massive north-face of Mt. Everest. After having the magnificent views of worlds highest mountain scenery you will be back to Kathmandu.

The trek portion will be supported by an expert Nepalese Sherpa team. Our professional chef will prepare all meals and other field staff will take care of camping and transport to the supplies (camping /kitchen materials and luggage) for which we use yaks and/or truck.

After the completion of Immigration formalities all check drive to Nyalam. Nyalam (3750 metres) is a funky little town around 30 km before the Nepal border. It has been steadily growing in size and facilities have been improving over the last few years. This no doubt due to burgeoning trade opportunities with near by Nepal. O/N in Nyalam.
