This trekking starts from Kathmandu with the domestic flight to Lukla, a small town in Khumbu region. Khumbu is undoubtedly one of the most famous areas in the world. Here is the highest mountain peak in the world – Mt. Everest.  There you can begin walking to the famous Sherpa village of Namche Bazaar, the gateway to the Everest region. Then it’s over the glaciers to the foot of Everest for the view of a lifetime. You can see also the beautiful peak of Ama Dablam (6,812 m) hovering in the sky along the trek route.  Everest Trekking provides not only the great trek it also provides an expedition as well as the discovery of Nature and human life.

Detail itinerary of Everest Base Camp Trek

  • DAY 1

    ARRIVE IN KATHMANDU

    Arrive in Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

  • DAY 2

    KATHMANDU CITY TOUR

    Visit major attractions of Kathmandu valley including Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath, Kathmandu Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square among other fascinating Buddhist and Hindu Temples and shrines.

  • DAY 3

    KATHMANDU / LUKLA / PHAKDING

    Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2850 m). After the 40 minutes scenic flight, the trekking begins from Lukla towards our destination Phakding ( 3-4 hrs)

  • DAY 4

    PHAKDING / NAMCHE BAZAAR

    Trekking begins from Phakding to Namche Bazar (approximately 6 hrs) along beside the Dudh Koshi amongst beautiful alpine scenery and spectacular views of snowy peaks. We will spend a night in Namche Bazaar at Teahouse Lodge or Tented Camp.

  • DAY 5

    ACCLIMATISE DAY IN NAMCHE BAZAAR

    It is the day for rest to acclimatize. You can hike around Thami Valley and visiting Sagarmatha National Park Headquarters to observe interesting displays of culture and lifestyle of the Sherpas.

  • DAY 6

    NAMCHE BAZAAR / KHUMJUNG

    From Namche, we trek and follow a small trail above the Dudh Kosi river with the view of Nupla Himal (5885 m), Kwangde (6194m) and Thamserku (6623m). The monastery of Thyangboche can be seen. Khumjung is our destination. The afternoon is for further acclimatization.

  • DAY 7

    KHUNJUNG / TENGBOCHE (THYANGBOCHE)

    Trekking begins from Khumjung and follows the village of Shanasa, cross the Dudh Kosi at Phukitenga (3250m). In the late morning we will approach Thyangboche, a village set in a beautiful meadow surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks. We will visit Thyangboche Monastery, founded in 1916 as a meditation center.

  • DAY 8

    TENGBOCHE / DINGBOCHE

    Today's expedition starts from Tyangboche and ends at Dingboche (approximately 5 hrs walk). Descenting a forest of juniper and rhododendron crossing the Imja Khola with the view of beautiful Ama Dablam (6812 m) and various monasteries on the way.

  • DAY 9

    ACCLIMATISASTION DAY IN DINGBOCHE

    Full day for acclimatization and exploring. You can see the towering Lhotse to the north, Island Peak at the center of the valley and the fluted ice-walls of other peaks from Dingboche with other beautiful sight.

  • DAY 10

    DINGBOCHE / LOBUCHE

    You will see Khumbu Glacier en route and continue to Kalar Pattar and Pumori to reach Lobuche (4930m) for your evening stay. This is approximately 5 hrs trek.

  • DAY 11-12

    LOBUCHE / KALAPATTER / GORKSHEP / EBC / LOBUCHE

    Following the path above Lobuche alongside the Khumbu Glacier, we will reach Gorak Shep. After one and half hours walk, we will climb Kala Patthar (5630m), a small, rocky peak on the southwest ridge of Pumori . The views from the summit of Kala Patthar are really outstanding.

  • DAY 13

    LOBOCHE / TENGBUCHE

    After tiring ascent to Kala Patthar, we follow the wide alpine valley covered in scrub juniper through the temporary settlement of Phulung Karpo (4343m) and Pheriche, a small rural settlement. Continue down to Orsho, then on through Lower Pangboche and down to Deboche, reaching our lodge at Thyangboche in the afternoon.

  • DAY 14

    TENGBOCHE / MONJO

    Following a similar trail through a forest of juniper and rhododendron to Phunkitenga, we will cross the Dudh Kosi for a steep descent to Trashinga. After lunch at Shanasa we will be back to Namche Bazaar. Crossing Bhote Kosil we will follow the bank to Jorsale, then to Monjo for overnight.

  • DAY 15

    MONJO / LUKLA

    From Monjo we will continue trek along the Dudh Kosi, before making a final ascent to reach the Lukla plateau by mid afternoon. On arrival in Lukla you will have time to relax and celebrate the completion of your trek.

  • DAY 16

    LUKLA / KATHMANDU

    You will be transferred to Lukla Airport for your flight back to Kathmandu. This is your free day in Kathmandu.

  • DAY 17

    FREE DAY IN KATHMANDU

    After breakfast, you are free in Kathmandu as your own for shopping and pick-up some last minute souvenirs.

  • DAY 18

    DEPARTURE

    Everest Base Camp Trek ends and you will be provided transportation to Tribhuvan International Airport for your final departure.
