Tamur River Adventure

Tamur River Adventure, the watershed for the River Tamur extends from the slopes of the mountains of the Umbhak Himal on the border with Tibet, across to the slopes of Kanchanjunga (the world’s third highest peak). It is an outstandingly beautiful river with superb views of the Himalaya mountain range, including Mt. Everest, Mt. Kanchanjunga and Mt. Makalu. The river trip includes around 120 km of continuous 125 rapids, grade 3 to 4, with some graded -5 , making one of the best white water expedition trips in the world.

The trip is organized by Adventure Silk Road Treks & Expedition Inc and starts with an internal flight or drive from Kathmandu to Biratnagar in the far South-East of Nepal. From there, we take a private bus to drive to Basantapur in the Tehrathum Region, where we camp overnight. The following day, we begin an awe-inspiringly beautiful 5 day trek to Dobhan through the remote Taplejung region of Eastern Nepal. From Dobhan we begin the exhilarating 5 day rafting and kayaking trip, which includes a day relaxing on a remote river beach or an optional one day trek visiting local villages. Finally, there’s an overnight drive by private bus back to Kathmandu or an optional internal flight to Kathmandu.

• DAY 1

  Departure from Kathmandu in the late afternoon (at 1430hrs) by bus.

• DAY 2

  We reach in Basantapur by 09:00a.m. You are served breakfast there. After that you can explore the neplese life-style by yourself, while other makes ready porters for trekking starting from tomorrow. Lunch will be served at 1300 & dinner at 1900hrs and over-night stay at Laxmi hotel.

• DAY 3

  After having heavy breakfast we get ready for heavy trekking. It will serve lunch & dinner en-rute. Over-night in tent or available tea-house.

• DAY 4

  Full day trekking and in the evening camping.

• DAY 5

  Full day trekking and camping.

• DAY 6

  Full day trekking. Finally we reach at Dhovan (our get-in point).

• DAY 7

  It is the first day of wild water expedition. First day is slightly hard & full of beautiful scenary Camping at Cabeli Dhovan.

• DAY 8

  After taking breakfast, we get ready for another day adventure. This section of the river is little easy than yesterday. Lunch is served at 1300hrs. Over_night camping at the river beach.

• DAY 9

  Full day rafting on Tamur and in the evening camping.

• DAY 10

  Rafting all day long.

• DAY 11

  Finally, we arrived at chatara ( Dharan). This is our take-out spot, where we will have lunch & then we take night bus to get back to Kathmandu. If you have different destination, we help you to choose your right bus by your own.

• DAY 12

  We arrived in Kathmandu at 7:00a.m. You will be free for souvenir & your trip ends here.
