It is a rare combination of long arrays of snow-capped peaks, crystal clear lakes, turbulent rivers with deep gorges, Tibetan monasteries, hot springs, and picturesque villages inhabited by simple and friendly ethnic people.
Ghorepani & Ghandrug trek is short trek but best view point and rich of culture, religion and home of Gorkha British Arm. Only a short walk beyond Ghorepani is the Deorali pass (deorali also means Pass) with spectacular views. An hour’s climb from here will take you to Poon (pun)HIll, one of the best Mimalayan viewpoints in in Nepal. There are hotels at Ghorepani and at Deorali. Ghora means horse and pani means water and indeed, long caravans of pack horses are regularly seen all along the Jomsom trek.
